Lost wax casting, micro-casting, called Waterglass or sodium-silicate. At a reduced cost, similar to that of sand casting, a surface quality similar to lost wax casting proper is obtained together with a quality of the blank much higher than sand casting. It is possible to obtain complex shapes, reduced excess metals and achieve tight dimensional tolerances. This technology is mainly suitable for carbon steels and low-alloy steels. In addition, the foundry patterns have a cost much lower than those of classic casting. Mechanical finish included if required.
